Requests Redone | The Return of Issue Reporting | New Uptime / Status Monitoring with Incident Reporting

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening, everyone,

Due to a number of users asking about the lack of ability to report issues like in the initial version of requests utilized by us (Ombi v2 if I’m not mistaken or v3 perhaps). This feature appears to be dearly missed for the occasions it actually comes in handy.

As such I have taken up the use of a new format of requesting system which includes an issues page while integrating the expected features of a media request system. The aforementioned system is known as “Petio” and their fantastic code can be found over at their main website (https://petio.tv/). I urge you to check it out if you’re into this kind of thing.

Currently the application is in the alpha phases of development however appears to be under regular development.

That being said, if you encounter any issues, kindly forward details of the issue and perhaps a screenshot of the problem to webmaster@lightspeedta.co for further investigation.

There is one drawback which is that currently only Plex users are automatically imported and have their accounts created meaning I will need to manually add any Jellyfin users who request access.

To ease growing pains I’ve modified the Request for Access form to reflect the option for new or existing Jellyfin users to choose to have, if accepted as per the usual rules, both a Jellyfin and Petio account under the same credentials at the same time, saving both me and the user some time and effort. But fear not, if you have a Jellyfin account and had formerly had access to the old requests system (Overseerr), all you need to do is complete the request for access form appropriately and the rest will be taken care of.

To existing Plex users, the service will function via a Plex sign in as usual.

Lastly, I have decided to move away from external, paid services such as UptimeRobot which if you’re familiar with the uptime stats page up till now, you’ll know.

I figure, I already pay for hosting, why not fire up something low powered to achieve something similar?

In comes Uptime Kuma which the code for is linked, and here is the Reddit post on /r/selfhosted I found that prompted me to make the switch. Thanks Louis Lam! You can check out his Github project here!

Well, that’s all for now. I hope everyone stays safe, healthy, happy and well entertained.

P.S – Until I get more familiar with the application and it gets fleshed out as it’s development progresses, the request limit across the board is 5.
