I Thought It Was Quiet – Recent Outage (Oops)

Hey everyone,

You may have noticed that the server was inaccessible since last evening. This is due to some unscheduled maintenance with the networking configuration preventing the 802.3ad link aggregation.

When my work was complete I neglected to test for connectivity to the internet as everything on my side seemed fine. This was a grave error and as a result the server was without access to the internet since the maintenance.

I thought it was a quiet night for the server but upon closer investigation I saw the issue. A line in the configuration was missing which identified the DNS name servers to use making name resolution impossible in this case.

I apologize deeply for the inconvenience. I can assure you that everything is now properly working and we can resume our regularly scheduled programming.
