LightSpeedDashboard v2 | Sharing and User Caps | The Future

Ahoy everyone,

It’s been quite some time since I’ve been able to put an update out here but I’ve tried to stay semi-active on Twitter which is located on the left sidebar for your convenience.

Now that I’ve had a bit of downtime I was able to sit down and take care of a few loose ends and unfinished projects. First and foremost you may have noticed a change to the dashboard as we’ve update to the beta of Organizr v2 which has been fantastic to work with thus far.

Some new features include…

  • Single Sign On for the requests page (Ombi)
  • A new look
  • Better performance

Along with all of the usual goodies like seeing whats being watched currently, what you’ve requested and it’s status, what’s coming down the pipes currently (50% working), and the schedule with color coded legend.

I have also taken the time to actually fully rebuild the OS and migrate to a Ubuntu 18.04 installation with a brand spanking new Apache configuration which is much cleaner and efficient. I also took advantage of DigitalOcean’s new optimized droplets for a faster and smoother experience for everyone.

Earlier today when traffic was very slow I updated PlexMediaServer to the latest version, rebooted all the nodes and ensured everything was working in terms of load distribution and playback success.

Some unfortunate news is also to be had however, as you may be aware we are and have been for sometime, at the limit Plex has set for the default number of maximum users one can share their library with. As a result, I have been only able to prune old unused accounts to make room for new users but at a point nearing soon this won’t be viable anymore as all users become regulars slowly.

That being said, the signup page now includes a notice indicating that we are currently not accepting new member so please refrain from directing new prospective users to the signup page for our servers as they will regrettably be put in a waiting list until further notice.

On a final note, the cost of maintaining and replacing the servers as well as the internet connection necessary to enable high definition video streaming for multiple users at the same time. Please do not be surprised when I say that this setup and service may not last forever and that all good things come to and end but do not fear, the end is not yet near however please keep us in mind and donate if you can spare anything.

All donations go towards improvements and maintenance to the systems/setup.

Happy streaming!
