Welcome to the finally completed new and improved Nobreaks.ca Plex Media Server.

Running on a quad core Xeon E3-1246 v3 CPU at 3.50 GHz with 16 gigabytes of DDR3 RAM in a RAID 6 dual disk failure redundant 18 terabyte array complete with 4 RJ-45 gigabit ethernet connections trunked into a load distributing failover protected mode this is the fastest that Plex has ever been for us and the most stable. Without regular needs to update and reboot for various reasons I expect that this current system will be in place for the foreseeable future.

The RAID 6 array not only offers a beautiful dual disk loss redundancy but also enhances the read times as the data can be simultaneously read from 5 of the 7 disks that are not writing parity bits. This should make browsing the loading content from the server lightning fast. With the database being brand new and the naming conventions being perfected prior to indexing, I imaging that this will be one smooth ride.

Now I may be speaking too early as the final rebuild of the RAID 6 array is to be completed however I’m confident that this will be completed within a few hours at its current progress. However, that aside. Please, find a comfortable seat, grab a snack, gather some friends and enjoy. We’re back, and better than ever.
