Whats Going On?

Hey everyone, What a night! The persistent networking issues we’ve been experiencing lately have finally been resolved. It took a lot of work and reconfiguration however its over. What was happening was the 802.3ad configuration for the network was constantly trying to restart the network service which would trigger Plex media server to restart as a network change had occurred which would obviously affect it. This would explain the up and down status of the server and the interruptions in playback since the restart of the media server makes the load balancer need to re-query the other nodes on their load averages and make decisions on distributing the load which takes time itself. Overall the performance was suffering and the interruptions were not acceptable. I resorted to reinstalling the OS on the server and restoring certain backed up files to speed up the process. All is well now, so please continue to enjoy and you have my apologies for the issues. Regards, LightSpeedTaco

Software Upgrades

Hey everyone, I recently found some latency issues when running all the required software off the NAS where all the files are stored so I’ve moved some stuff around and I’m pleased to say that performance is great and everything is purring nicely. We’ve ditched CouchPotato for Radarr for movie indexing and it’s been a real joy thus far. Requests is fully compatible and has been tested to be working so you probably won’t even notice a change but the performance here is better and the UI is cleaner making for an easier time when working with it for me as well as requiring less work in terms of configuration and automation. If you run into any issues please report them to me via the contact page. Next, Plex has updated recently and included a much sought after feature for myself. Simultaneous stream limitation settings. No more murdering my poor logfiles! Everyone is limited to a singular stream at any given time. Lastly a special thanks to the two users who didn’t hesitate to send in a donation within minutes of receiving my email and thanks to anyone who even considered donating. It goes a long way! Cheers, LightSpeedTaco

Donations Accepted via PayPal Now

Hello everyone, The upkeep costs are quite substantial however this my hobby and therefore I will continue to do my best with what I have however any help is greatly appreciated. Previously we integrated Patreon however it was voiced that not many people would like to donate monthly which is fine so I’ve made the switch to PayPal and integrated a donation button in the sidebar. While not mandatory, your support is greatly appreciated and you can rest easy that any funds accumulated will go to the upkeep and improvement of the LightSpeedPlex media server systems/network. [paypal_donation_button] Thanks! The LightSpeed Team

Requests System Issues

Hey everyone, We have fallen back to an alternate requests system as the usual one stopped accepting TV Show requests for some reason. Until that’s sorted this version is confirmed to be working for both Movies and TV Shows. This version is a little less feature rich but it’ll do for the time being. The issue has been resolved and we are back to our regular and prefered requests system. TV Show requests work again. Happy watching! LightSpeedTaco

I Thought It Was Quiet – Recent Outage (Oops)

Hey everyone, You may have noticed that the server was inaccessible since last evening. This is due to some unscheduled maintenance with the networking configuration preventing the 802.3ad link aggregation. When my work was complete I neglected to test for connectivity to the internet as everything on my side seemed fine. This was a grave error and as a result the server was without access to the internet since the maintenance. I thought it was a quiet night for the server but upon closer investigation I saw the issue. A line in the configuration was missing which identified the DNS name servers to use making name resolution impossible in this case. I apologize deeply for the inconvenience. I can assure you that everything is now properly working and we can resume our regularly scheduled programming. Regards, LightSpeedTaco
