Captains Log

While I’m still away from most of civilization I took the time to rectify the fact that I wouldn’t be able to fix problems remotely as stated previously in my last post. Now I can administrate everything from the plex servers settings (even though I could always do that through the plex site) to Sickbeard and Sab as well as the Nas and even my router and modem. Given I have Internet of course. UPDATE: Clearly the one thing everything hinges on goes out. Seems to be a physical issue on our end like a power outage or a cat/assistant administrator got a hold of a certain cable. I’ll monitor the situation and hope everything returns back to normal within reasonable time. Either way I’ll be back at my desk late evening tomorrow. Update 2: Turns out the modem completely stopped working and needed to be reset completely as in not powered off and on but reset to factory defaults and settings restored. While I talked someone through the process of repairing it, Plex wont be available until later tonight. I will update this post once everything is back to normal. Update 3: Everything is fixed! Cheers LightSpeedTaco

AFK

Hello everyone, I’ll be away from the server for a few days starting today and ending late Monday. So if anything is going on I’ll likely be informed by the server somewhere but won’t necessarily be able to fix the issues until I return. Sorry for any inconvenience! Have a great weekend. Temporary Downtime – Hard Drive Upgrade

All this new HD content resulted in the acquisition of yet another 4 TB drive. Expect things to return to normal in half an hour or so. I’ll update this post when the work is complete. Upgrade complete! Back to business. LightSpeedTaco

Backlog Begins

Basically this is a heads up that between 12 AM and 11 AM the server will be doing backlog which means its updating old standard quality episodes and looking for their glorious 720p counterparts where available. This equates to about 4 terabytes of new data. It will take some time to complete and no doubt there will be slowdowns while this is occurring. Please let me know if the schedule is too inconvenient. Website Optimization

I myself was noticing that the website was becoming rather sluggish so I pulled an all nighter for the fun and optimized the crap out of nobreaks.ca You should notice faster load times and less resources being downloaded when you visit the page. Update: You may need to click on images if they seem small to enlarge them. LightSpeedTaco
