Just a heads up in-case you missed it in the earlier post. I’ll be doing some network maintenance on the server’s network tomorrow. Specifically setting up a new switch so expect inconsistent uptime for the Plex server. I’ll keep you posted via this post when maintenance begins and when it ends as well as the outcome. On another note, the recent instability in the Plex Server has been due to a new switch installation that did not co-operate with my teamed NICs however I feel I have resolved the issue but will not attempt repairs until the 27th of December to give both stability over the holidays and myself a break. Appears that two faulty batteries of the four the keep the juice flowing in times of power outage were cauging the failure at times of greater energy demand however all is well now. Expect a quick downtime while I switch back all the necessary equipment to the UPS and regain maximum uptime. LightSpeedTaco

With a recent involvement with VyprVPN it has become realistic and possible to secure the connection between the Plex Media Server and yourself. Currently the streams you watch will be encrypted through a 128 256 bit cipher before making its way through the net to your screens. Even the DNS requests run through VyprVPN’s private Sweden Privacy Law based DNS servers. As this is a beta test of the stability and compatibility it is key that you forward any issues or information regarding the state of Nobreaks Plex Media Server as to keep me informed as to where this project will lead and what tweaks it may require.
