I’ve always had a strict no ads policy when I’ve made a site and this is the first time I’ve ventured into breaking this policy however hear me out. To keep things running on my end it requires roughly 70 dollars a month; but this isn’t an expense for the sake of doing it, it’s my passion and where I love to pour hours of work into. I also, if you haven’t noticed, have a serious interest in security and privacy when contacting me, visiting the site and possibly now when streaming content. I discovered VyprVPN many months ago when I signed up for a Giganews account. Their services were included which featured everything they currently have to offer and at first I shied away from using what was offered but I later began to appreciate what they did and the potential they had. No logging VPN, secure DNS services, easy to implement applications, secure encrypted data storage. All of this was secure and they explained how it was as well which really appealed to me as both an average Joe… Read More »What in the Hell Are These Ads?

Server Status Page and Enhanced Security

I’ve received some positive feedback regarding performance as well so I moved my focus to the site itself and keeping you as informed as possible. Today marks the availability of a brand new server status page where you can check out what’s going on inside the server running nobreaks.ca. Check out the menu under “Server Status” or head to the page from here. The page is of course fully protected by our SSL certificate.   Next on the agenda. Site security. It’s too easy to hack websites that are ill informed and don’t have recent implementations of popular software such as recently SSL and, of course, Apache. Feel free to inspect the versions the most prominent pieces of software on the site at the bottom of the status page which is in real time by the way.
