Find and Replace Issued on Database

Hello all, I have entered a find and replace query in the database to reflect the change from HTTP to HTTPS to ensure that any old links don’t make a page partially insecure i.e if an image is linked via an HTTP link it is not converted to HTTPS until user view it and the server identifies that oops this is an old link, it really leads to the HTTPS link found here. To quicken the transfer process for any old images or links I issued a find and replace query in the database directly so that even before its accessed, the object/item is taken via/to the HTTPS destination on the server. After all whats a tunnel under the ocean worth if no one uses boats to cross the same distance (reference of course to the HTTPS tunnel the traffic SHOULD be going through vs the traffic going around it). Now I will be watching for error page displays please do take the time to let me know if you encounter any partially unencrypted pages or error pages that can’t find a given resource (i.e dead links and missing images) via the contact me page. It would be greatly appreciated.… Read More »Find and Replace Issued on Database

Network Maintainence

Today I will be upgrading the internal Nobreaks network therefore downtime will be in order. Effective 4PM EST until I update this post hopefully within 24 hours. This post will be updated to reflect changes. Regards and sorry for any inconvenience, LightSpeedTaco   Update 1: 5:16 PM EST I am going to try and keep my computer/server connected for as long as possible for your convenience.   Update 2:  9:18 PM EST Like what you see? Update 3 1:47AM EST Work Fully Complete. Let me know how it is! Speed Test to local NAS running RAID 5, writing and reading 500 MB files. I believe 70% saturation is the maximum speed reachable given the single core CPU RAID 5 architecture with parity being written prior to collisions occurring.   Better lighting

Reinstall Completed

Unforeseen circumstances required a reinstall of my OS on the server here and as a result the media information files need to be re-analyzed and for some reason the shares for the server were lost and will require you to contact me with your username or email that you signed up with on Plex.tv via the contact me page and I’ll have your account setup again in no time. Sorry for any inconvenience! LightSpeedTaco UPDATE: It appears that the PlexPass version of the android Plex app included a Friends list which included all the people I’ve shared the server with therefor expect emails with invites. Simply accept them as usual and continue enjoying.

Contact Form Fixed!

For a long time, almost since this site was established I’ve worked on the Contact Me form and always tried to keep an open mind and open inbox to queries and questions however a key aspect utilized by WordPress to use PHP to send messages in a similar fashion as email was simply not working, why specifically I’m still not sure. Finally I’ve made the switch over to use the server’s SMTP service to send mail opposed to the PHP function WordPress is automatically selected to send emails. Feel free to visit the Contact Me page and use the handy form to get in contact with me. I’ve tested the system and it does seem to be working great. I’ll try to respond as quickly as possible to your queries. Better late than never, LightSpeedTaco

Setting Optimization Guide Coming Soon

I’ve been approached a few times by users that are having performance issues when playing back media and typically it seems that the issue(s) lie in the “Player” settings when viewing the server at Plex.tv. So to clarify I’ll be making a page similar to the signup guide but rather a guide to optimize the performance for your connection. UPDATE: Posted! Playback Optimization Have a good one, LightSpeedTaco
