Plex Media Server Down for Hard Drive Upgrades

It was a little unexpected having been as busy as I was, the automated system was doing its thing and fetching media and so by the time I got around to checking up on storage use I realized that it was running low! As a result I’ve swapped around some disks between my PC and the NAS, I plan to have Plex back up and running by the end of today. I’ll keep this post updated. Sorry for the inconvenience! LightSpeedTaco Update: ETA on full functionality 1 day 11 hours. It’s 10 terabytes of data…   Update: Good morning/afternoon. ETA is now 6 hours. Update: As of 5:16PM EST the current ETA is 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Intermittent Service and Downtime of the Plex Server

Hey everyone, Yep, I’m still alive! Anyways, I suspect that for the past few days or potentially for longer, a surge protector which was utilized in the backbone connection to the internet for the systems here was interfering with the quality of the connection and as a result the server was not functioning at full speed and at time was down entirely. The problem has been addressed and things seem to be running at full speed again. Please feel free to contact me regarding any issues you may still encounter. Regards, LightSpeedTaco

Massive Milestone in Content Delivery and Uptime

Hey everyone! I’m proud today to let you know that we’ve hit a massive milestone in the content available. We knew we had a lot when we needed a 6 bay RAID 6 NAS stuffed to the gills with 11 TB of usable storage and 2 disk fault tolerance over a full gigabit network but this is just crazy now.   To my knowledge we now have available every episode of every TV show on the server which is 179 individual series totaling a whopping 12,828 individual episodes. I can barely believe my eyes. This goes without mentioning the 652 movies also available. The sheer volume of everything has bar exceeded my expectations when I initially planned to begin to learn some more diverse server management skills and hone my networking skills in a real world environment. Thanks to everyone who regularly use the server and I hope you’ve noticed the steady uptime we’ve had. As a result of the aquisition of a lot of this content recently the streams may have been sub par in quality and speed however this should no longer be an issue as I think I’ve got enough content for now. Large Additions to the TV Section and a Minecraft Server

Hello everyone, As you may have noticed, there have been a significant increase in the number of TV Shows (mainly anime) but also some regular shows. I’ve finally completed the American Dad! collection and I’m quite proud of that as it proved to be a difficult sum of episodes to total up. So please, enjoy! I also have news related to an addition to the site. I’ve added a small minecraft server available to those who wish to participate. TNT and Creeper explosions do not destroy blocks but damage players still. The spawn is protected with a 16 block radius zone  but other than that it’s pretty vanilla despite being Bukkit based. Please ensure you are using the correct version of minecraft as Bukkit isn’t quite up to date as Minecraft itself. You can find the URL and status in the menus at the top left of the list of links on the main page or below. You can also connect via lightspeedminecraft.mcpro.co I am a nut about saving the map so griefing is planned for but please try and play nice. I do all this and lose money every month but enjoy the work it gives me to do… Read More »Large Additions to the TV Section and a Minecraft Server

New Additions to Movies Section | Fixing Broken Apart Movies | Uptime Not Reporting Accurate Uptime

So we’ve got a few things to cover this time so lets start with the new additions. I’ve located both all the Fast and Furious movies for your enjoyment as well as all of the Police Academy movies which I’m thrilled about so I hope my joy reaches out to you too.   The anime continues to slowly flow into the TV section. It may be seperated into its own category however it is essentially TV aired content so we’ll see. Next, I noticed that parts of movies were split into two or more parts which I’ve begun to remedy and replace so that your viewing experience will remain unbroken. In specific I noticed that the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were split up and I’m fixing that now. If any other movies are also split, please let me know so I can attend to them. Finally, it seems that Uptime Robot has been incorrectly stating that the Plex Media Server is down when in reality all is well. I’m looking into this so please rely on a manual check if the server is available or not for the time begin. That should be it for now! LightSpeedTaco
