Automated Content Updates (Currently Down) – Know the Moment its Available / Firmware Conundrum

Hey everyone, Well last night this morning was interesting. There was a beta level update for the NAS that the server runs on and I said hey what the hell. Big mistake. Never go beta on critical systems. Turns out the update was bogus for my model and didn’t apply so somehow it was able to apply and ended up totally nuking the kernel to the NAS firmware and it became totally unresponsive particularly on a network level. My theory is that it believed I had a NAS that fell under the qualifications for said update which did not include my model which is a 10 bay. When I looked at which versions were available for download, no 10 bay devices were mentioned which makes me wonder why the hell I was offered the update. Anyways, after a risky and lengthy process of downgrading the system back to an appropriate firmware, things slipped back into normality without any data loss thankfully. Now, onto the good news! You may be aware of the Twitter account for Nobreaks which is @NobreaksPlex. I’ve successfully enabled the NAS to report to said Twitter account when new content is added within a 60 second window… Read More »Automated Content Updates (Currently Down) – Know the Moment its Available / Firmware Conundrum

The HD Update

Hello everyone, With the turn of a new year I have decided that its time to get with the program and update the server with the most HD content possible. While most of the recent content is in HD, I will be revisiting some classics and ensuring their content is HD through and through as well as adding some classics such as Sienfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends, all in HD. Among those to be upgraded, South Park and the Simpsons. At this time Family Guy’s earlier episodes are out of my reach in any highest quality. Keep an eye out and as always requests are taken via the contact me page. Enjoy! LightSpeedTaco

The Return of X Files and an Update on the Big 3

Hey everyone, Happy new year! With last year come and gone we’ve seen a lot of updates to the Nobreaks Plex Media Server. Our current state seems to be our best and is meeting the most demanding of situations. As you may know, X Files is returning! As a result we have picked up the series and the entirety of the series will be available in HD early this morning. On another note, the Big 3 (those being Bleach, Naruto Shippuden and One Piece) have all been added and index by the server and can be found in the anime section for your viewing pleasure. They will be kept up to date and most of the episodes are in HD excluding some of the early episodes. Welcome to 2016, we hope it’ll be another fantastic year for Nobreaks and yourselves! Modem Voes – Fixed

So I’ve been struggling with varying speeds and inconsistent wired seeds, coupled with horrible wired speeds and exceptional wifi speeds which was very confusing. After many days of troubleshooting I finally bit the bullet and went to get a replacement modem. Voila, problems solved. I must have gotten a refurb or just a bad one in the bunch but all is well now!

Happy Holidays from Nobreaks Plex Media Server!

As you’re all aware its that time of year again! Yep, the holidays. Regardless of your religion, belief system, philosophy or creed its a time we can all take advantage of and spend some quality time with family and friends. Exchange gifts if you wish or simply hangout and enjoy good company and good times. This will only be Nobreaks second Christmas but as you may remember, we had a section with a set of only Christmas related movies. Well, it’s back! This years roster is filled with some great chucklers and nostalgic trips down memory lane. All this in time with a little treat for myself that’ll be sure to benefit you too! Tomorrow we will be having installed our second WAN connection with speeds up to 250 megabits down and 20 megabits up. Fantastic, no? Well here’s the topper. I’ll be purchasing a dual WAN VPN router and utilize it to combine our current connection (as this new one will kinda of be a beta test) for fail-over and bandwidth increases. This means you’ll be able to get more content to you quicker and stream it in better quality faster than ever. Keep in mind that this is… Read More »Happy Holidays from Nobreaks Plex Media Server!
